Another chair

It is a fascinating picture:  the chair  covered in a fabric with a traditional, oldfashioned  flowerprint .....

the young  painter David Hockney in it, two of his paintings in  the background.
I would not have thought that he would prefer this kind of chair in  his studio, but he did. Is it the model of this chair, the comfort,  is it the fabric, is it something else or is it just  arranged for the photograph ...?
