Matisse's flowers

Last week was filled with February wintercolours, in fact  snow and sun  gave the days quite  a clearedge...
could have been much worse with rain and mud and grey grey skies but ...

must admit the winterdays of staying inside  are getting on my nerves   ......as much as autumn calls after a long summer I'm getting impatient  for spring now...

and an instant solution for the moment was going to the flowermarket,  had been weeks  ...

but even more sense made  looking at the wonderful paintings of Matisse.......spring and  summer light...!

Feel reassured again, spring will come in due time ..... the trick  is how to stay patient .....???

Snowwhite

The snowwhite calmed my world by covering it in greytones today

it was a day with a long to do list, due to the sudden heavy snow plans had to be changed , and then the day became a quite different one, a suddenly slowed down day and when I gave in,   I had  a long  walk with the dogs...can be quite a challenge to enjoy suddenly "empty" time when things have to be done but
the dogs and I must admit we did very well..... in the end..lovely walk we had...enjoyed the 'empty 'time

This must have been the greyest day since long and cold and rainy as well

so when the boys came home from school wet and hungry as ever  and the situation needed an instant rescue .... an nice  omelet with cheese and basil did the trick ...
very yellow and green and warm and comforting.....!!! Amazing how much they can eat , for them it's just a nice bite...

A Green Januari Tuesday Today

Today's  green.... a healthy green, a sweet green and a very smooth green.....

a pear  and a frog and...

and  smooth guacomole.......

and the sun was shining...

and the daylight is changing....and days are getting longer bit by bit again.....nice.....

Sundaymorning

Sunday in Januari.... a bit of cleaning , a bit of impatience for longer days already, a bit of rearranging stuff in the head.....and 

looking at the old flowers, can't throw them away, old and lovely

 trying to get  the male in the house eat healthy again after the holidays, they think I'm funny...

wonder how white Paper White is...wait and see...maybe next Sunday

Wonderful Peter Pan and the lost boys

Walking through Amsterdam , late this afternoon,  and suddenly saw this poster. Amazing colour on a grey day...it announces youththeatrecompany Gnaffel  : "Peter Pan and the lost boys", with puppets mansize .... theme of the play is autism, 

The play is meant for people age 7 +,  simply loved  the  expression on the puppets face and the colours  used for it...... wonderful  craftmanship. ....Shall I go and see it.....Luckily I'm old enough , age 7+...!

2012 has begun...

the first flowers in  2012.....

Couldn't help myself...it had to be springflowers........the Hyacinth smell in a way I  start to remember  spring again...t grey weather outside....strange days , these first days in January..                   

and the Grape Hyacinth originally are from the Mediteranean, the shade of  blue tells.....

Black and white ...

2012  will be black and white and all the colours in between........................

luckily one never knows which colour pops up at what time.... , I'll keep looking for them.... but I know they have their own rythm.... they sometimes show up when least expected....
