The painter has passed away, ... she loved light, her life was painting. Her words : "the minute I open my eyes in the morning I long to paint..." ... what an amazing gift to have known her and the way she led her life.... wish her all the light there is...and more

More Chairs and Sofas
Great love of mine ... these french chaise longues and chairs...upholstered in the traditional way...
The French call a daybed a "meridienne" and a chair is called " fauteuil en gondole ", "voyeuse" or "crapaud" depending on the form.... the name says it all
a crapaud for example is an overstuffed low armchair , with toadlike proportions ....and it really does remind me of a sitting toad,
love toads as well by the way , always makes me very happy if I can spy on one...
what more could one wish then lying on the "meridienne" on a summer afternoon and looking at a lovely old fat toad making his lovely ugly noises...or is this just a matter of taste ...?
For the time being this one guards my frontdoor , we greet each other every morning...good start of the day... and I know he's a fake one but of course that does not keep us from communicating...!

Chairs and sofas
I love the idea of this sofa, the fabric on the seat is long gone , maybe it's even more beautiful now, one can see the inside of the oldfashioned upholstercraftmanship ... or is it just because I have a soft spot for worn out upholstered furniture...? Think of old the stories the sofa has heard... told by the ones seated on it...
could fill a book, I guess...

A chair
It all starts with a good frame, I love the all the forms, the wood , the way they're made
Making a chair is a bit like building a house, ...and it all starts with a good frame...and finally the framemaker brought these ... I was very pleased...feels very good to have some "fresh" frames again...

a lazy sunday
The dogs decided today to be the perfect lazy sunday...
that means they're willing to accept loads of hugs from the human members of the tribe...but only if brought to them, no need for them to move of course ...
...and, they're willing, in case of emergency but as said only if really necessary, to accompany the human members of the tribe outside... but not too much excitement and wild walks today please ...

..dreaming of wild life....they might look awake but don't be fooled... they're daydreaming... lying for hours on the same spot..never mind the fact they're blocking the pathway, who cares...
it's their lazy sunday..mind you...
Desertbag
The Bedouin, always being on the move through the desert, sometimes leave things behind untill they come along again,
it's out of respect for one another, the Bedouin don't touch something left by another Bedouin, sometimes
things wait quite a while before being picked up again, but then again time in the desert has its own rythm ...
This bag hangs here already quite a while I was told...it's a pretty thought that the bag waits and waits ,
no hurry, it will be picked up when needed....
lovely loyal bag

One of these days in Egypt...every morning when the sun came I was surprised by the intensity of the colours, untill the evening came ...and then the next morning I was surprised again...
then the evening came...
and then the next morning I was surprised again...wouldn't you be ...?
